Enya's Odyssey is based in the South West that aims to provide play and reduce anxiety in children dealing with Leukaemia through much-needed equipment, promoting play and providing child-friendly medical systems for local cancer wards.
Working with families and wards of children with leukaemia across the South West (Reg. Charity Number 1202222)
Here at Enya’s Odyssey our number one priority at all times is promoting the importance of fun and play for children fighting Leukaemia in the South West. Play, equipment, and acts of kindness are all crucial parts of Enya’s Odyssey’s mission to give children dealing with Leukaemia the support they need.
Providing child friendly medical equipment to minimise anxiousness for children suffering from Leukaemia during their stays in hospital.
Lift spirits amid some difficult days by providing play equipment, fostering joy and resilience for children battling leukaemia, helping put a smile on their faces.
We will fund the creation of small projects centred around play that can be delivered to wards or directly to homes during respite.
Enya’s Odyssey is named after a beautiful 4-year old girl named Enya Nellie, who was diagnosed with AML, a rare form of Leukaemia in girls. The family was taken straight from her local Treliske Hospital in Cornwall to Bristol Children’s Hospital where they were told that her treatment would be residential and all delivered in Bristol. Understanding by experience Enya’s Parents along with Enya decided to form a charity to support in ways that would make positive changes for the families and children battling leukemia. The aim is to make the treatment and stays a little more bearable
We are a smaller charity born out of our personal yet universal experience of the things we would see in the wards of hospitals across the South West and felt motivated to provide some much needed help to the departments that helped us.
Coming from a nursery and play background we identified small things that potentially could make a huge difference. Through discussions with professionals, we expressed our feelings and they were appreciative of what we could potentially offer. The teams work so hard on the ward this may just be a little boost that they need to get through another day.
Enya’s Odyssey’s mission statement is really quite simple. Provide support play for children and families during unspeakably difficult times and bring activities and equipment to the wards to lower anxiousness and feelings in all children on their journey with Leukaemia and try to bring a smile to some beautiful faces.
